June update
I am back in Guatemala with my sweet little girl! Mom and I are visiting from the 19th to the 26th. I promise a longer blog detailing our trip later...but I wanted to share some pictures and good news on some movement in our case.
DNA has been collected for the US Embassy.
The birth mother was interviewed by the Guatemalan Family Court.
The birth mother signed off the 2nd and 3rd time and signed a POA for our lawyer to sign the 4th (and final time) if she is unable to make it.
We are so happy and do believe Emma will be our little Emma. It will still take some time as we have so many govenrments to get clearance before we can bring her home. Rob and I are coming to visit again for his birthday.
Please continue to keep Emma in your prayers. Pray that things go smoothly and that she is home in our arms as soon as possible. (I am praying by Thanksgiving.)
Our DNA results were a 99.9% match. We got the results on June 28th (my mom's birthday)! On June 29th we were logged into the US Embassy in Guatemala. We have to get PA from them to move into PGN. PA is the US government saying everything is order and Emma is "adoptable" by all their criteria. Then we have to get approval from PGN the Guatemalan government approving us. The current PA was is 60 days----we hope to hear something by the end of August!
