How old is Emma today?

Lilypie1st Birthday Ticker

3-31-08 Birthday Cookie Party

For each of my children I have a first birthday Mommy and me party. Their "official" family/friend birthday is always SUCH an EVENT that it is hard to really to focus on them and truly celebrate and enjoy the importance of their special day. So this is my 3rd Cookie Party.
Here was our morning party in pictures.

We had a great morning together...until it was over. Then she was not happy. I am sure tomorrow morning when it is time for bananas she will wonder where the cookies are!

3-30-08 1st Birthday Party

I promise more pictures and a longer post soon!
Here are some pictures from Emma's birthday party. She had a wonderful party with lots of family and friends. We are so lucky to have her home to celebrate her first birthday!

Happy Easter....(and Birthday Wish!)

Here are some pictures from today. We had a wonderful day with our family and friends. Our family has changed so much since last Easter. Today in Church I was thinking about Easter last year. We had gotten Emma's referral 4 days earlier and were preparing to leave the following day to meet her. This year she was in arms at church. It's amazing!
We hope each of you had a great day!

Today is also a special day for Sofia...Emma's foster sister! It is her birthday. I am going to try this picture to them so she knows we were thinking about her and wishing her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

3-22-08 Earrings---GONE

Emma hasn't been feeling well. She is taking meds and starting to feel better. But yesterday when I was holding her after she got up, I checked her ears and ONE earring was MISSING! We have searched everywhere and found the back but cannot find the piercing POST. We fear she swallowed it. We called our ped and he said that it shouldn't be a problem and we need to check her diapers---GROSS! We haven't found it yet....but are on the lookout.
I took her other earring out. I am not going to redo them right now. When she is older, she can get them done if she would like. I cannot keeep hairbows in her hair....not sure why I thought I could get her to leave her ears alone!
I am sad because she was not able to wear the ADORABLE earrings her first family gave her. It makes me so sad that their gift to her cannot be worn. We are talking to our friend who owns a jewelry store and are going to try to get them set in a necklace for her. I am so excited that we are going to be able to make something special out of Christian and Astrid's gift to Emma. We love them so much and want to always make sure they hold a very, very special place in Emma's heart.
Here are some pictures of Ms. Emma. Her ears are healing...and she is feeling better. Her hair is pulled back (not cut) because her little nose is running so much and her hair keeps getting STUCK to her face!

These pictures she was not happy with me because her brothers were playing in the floor and she wanted to be down there playing too.

Here is what Jay and Drew were doing this morning. Yesterday was so nice that they went outside with their Dad and explored. They found lots and lots of dinosaur teeth in our backyard. They had a shovel and paintbrush and were too cute. This morning they were getting their teeth in order from largest T-Rex tooth to smallest flyer tooth...("Flyer's don't need BIG teeth mom....they eat little things and don't kill anyone"- Drew) Can you tell I am going to have my hands full with these boys!

Two last Emma pictures...after a hard morning of playing!

It is so hard to be almost 1! We are getting ready for our Easter celebration! We cannot wait to take Emma to church. (It will be her first time to Church since she has been home.) I cannot wait to see what she thinks of all the people, music and celebration.

3-17-8 Busy weekend

On Saturday we took Emma to the mall to get her ears pierced. Her foster family bought her a beautiful pair of earrings and as soon as we make it to the 6 week mark we will be able to put them in Emma's ears. (I promise pictures as soon as we change them!) She was a trooper. She cried for a few seconds but was comforted by the sucker she was given. Rob held her and I took pictures!

Then we had another WELCOME HOME EMMA PARTY! It was given by my co-workers at Counselor's Clinical Cottage! They did such a great job with decorations and made her day very special. Here are some pictures from the party!

Jade planned a "Pretty Princess Party" but instead of the cake she ordered she got a "Pretty Pony Party"! She was not pleased but it was wonderful and Emma loves My Little Pony!

The only bad thing...I didn't get one picture of Emma and Jade. Jade has been my supervisor for almost 2 years now! She owns the private practice where I work. She got this GREAT birthday dress for Emma. I think it is about the cutest thing I have EVER seen and I cannot wait till Emma's party when she wears it! She will look beautiful in it! Here is a sneak peak of it:

Isn't it beautiful?! Thanks so much, JADE!
Thanks everyone who came to Emma's party. It was a great time and we appreciate all the wonderful gifts. Emma got lots of great things---books, puzzles, clothing, shoes, a necklace, a new bowl/cup/fork, picture frame, picture album, Gunn dog that barks, bathing suit, and hair clips! Thanks so much!
